'Inconsiderate' man has sound equipment seized following police raid in Fleetwood

A Fleetwood man who reportedly played loud "grunge garage music" at all times of the day and night has had his equipment seized.

Police officers helped the council execute a warrant at an address in Waverley Avenue this afternoon (July 28).

Numerous complaints had been received over the last few months of loud "grunge garage music" coming from the address at all times of the day and night, according to police.

Despite the lone occupant being warned on a number of occasions that their music was too loud they continued to ignore officers.

Their actions resulted in their sound amplification equipment - including two 15in speakers - being seized by the council and put into storage pending a court hearing.

Mark Finch, Fleetwood Community Beat Manager, said: "His behaviour was completely inconsiderate and considered anti-social in this densely populated area.

"The equipment included two 15" speakers with a combined power of 2400W. This is very loud considering many pub bands use two speakers with outputs of between 300W-500W each, so you can imagine the volume of sound that could be, and was, produced.

"We hope this will send a message to the perpetrator that this type of behaviour will not be tolerated, and to anyone else considering doing the same."
