Sgt Phil Palmer said: "These are clearly very shocking and alarming offences where young girls have been approached by a man who has then exposed himself.

“The victims involved have been left upset and distressed and we want to find the person responsible as soon as possible.

“Police are pursuing positive lines of enquiry at this time, including CCTV images from the time of the offences in St Annes Road and Bloomfield Road.

“If you can help with our investigation, contact police immediately.”

Police said the first alleged incident happened to three girls in Marton Drive, South Shore, at around 6.50pm on Sunday, June 18.

The flasher was described as white, bald, aged 30 to 40, and was wearing an orange t-shirt, jeans, and a shoulder bag.

Just 10 minutes later, a man followed two girls in Hawes Side Lane, Marton, before exposing himself. He was also described as white and bald, and aged around 40, but was reported to have been wearing blue shorts, and carrying a black backpack.

Then on Sunday, July 2, two girls were followed from Watson Road Park at around 7pm when a white bald man, aged in his mid-30s, exposed himself outside Palatine Library in St Annes Road, South Shore. He was wearing a dark jacket, blue jeans, white trainers, and carrying a black shoulder strap bag.

A week later, between 1.15pm and 1.55pm, on Sunday, July 9, three girls in Bloomfield Road were flashed by a white bald man wearing a dark hooded top, blue jeans, and shoulder bag.

The fifth offence allegedly happened at around 8.30pm last Tuesday, when a man exposed himself to two girls in Grasmere Road, Blackpool. He was described as being aged in his 30s with no hair. He was wearing a white top with brown shorts.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said all the girls involved were between the ages of 11 and 14.
