A thug who launched a violent attack on a member of railway staff at Blackpool South station is still at large.
Police are still investigating the ugly scenes that spelled misery for commuters on a busy Fylde rail line on Wednesday.
The 8.20am service from Blackpool South to Colne was cancelled as far as Preston after one of the train’s crew members was hit in the face, leaving him in need of hospital treatment.
It is understood a would-be passenger became enraged after missing the train.
The noise on the platform caused the driver to stop the train and his colleague was attacked as he leant out of the window to investigate.
A British Transport Police spokesman confirmed the investigation was ongoing.
