A man accused of being the driver in an alleged hit and run incident has made his first appearance in court.

Matthew McGlynn, 26, of St Bernards Road, Knott End, is charged with driving dangerously

McGlynn is also accused of failing to stop after an accident on St Bernards Road, Knott End, involving injury to a pedestrian and driving without insurance.

Claire Hilton, prosecuting, asked for the case to be heard at crown court and opposed an application for bail for McGlynn by defence lawyer Steven Townley.

Blackpool magistrates remanded McGlynn in custody towards the committal of his case to Preston Crown Court on January 30.
