WRAPS of heroin were found concealed in a children’s sweet Kinder egg when police raided a Blackpool address.

Jobless Tyrone Hanna, 43, of Ansdell Road, Blackpool, admitted heroin possession.

Tracy Yates, prosecuting, said police carried out a drugs search at Hanna’s home on August 8 at 9am.

Five wraps of heroin were found in a Kinder egg in the bedroom and six wraps of the drug in the lounge.

Suzanne Mugford, defending, said Hanna had stopped taking drugs, but then he became extremely ill and spent a month in hospital. When he was discharged he was on painkillers, did not go out of the house much and he started taking drugs again.

Hanna, now on a drug rehab programme, had bought drugs in bulk for his own use and split them up into smaller amounts so he would how much he was using.

He was fined £110 with £85 costs and ordered to pay the £15 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates who ordered the destruction of the drugs.
