He was sentenced to a four weeks tagged curfew from 9pm to 6am and ordered to pay £25 compensation with £50 costs plus £85 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool Magistrates.

Prosecutor, Adrian Hollamby, said Miller was in the dining room of The Cliffs Hotel eating breakfast, although he was not a guest on June 1. When challenged he gave a room number which did not check out and he was asked to leave.

Miller was apprehended not far from the hotel and the handbag was found in a nearby bin.
