A MASKED raider who staged a terrifying gun-point robbery in Bispham has been jailed for five years.
Stuart Mcainsh stormed into Royal Bank of Scotland on Red Bank Road, Bispham, armed with a replica handgun.
He threatened staff with the weapon before fleeing with almost £3,000.
The 25-year-old was sentenced to four-years-and-six-months in prison for robbery and six months for the firearms offence.
Det Sgt George Binns, from Blackpool Police, said: “This was a terrifying incident for the bank’s staff and customers – which included young children and pensioners.
Fortunately no one was harmed, but many were left shocked by what happened.
“Mcainsh went on to gamble away the money he had stolen.
“This was a complex police investigation and I hope the subsequent sentence handed out to Mcainsh will serve as a warning to those who come into the county to commit crime.” FOR THE FULL STORY PICK UP A COPY OF WEDNESDAY’S GAZETTE.
