Residents had complained about damage on the park and some claim to have seen older youths giving what appeared to be drugs to younger ones.

Concerned citizens also condemned the scourge of anti-social behaviour outside Marine Hall in July last year, with around 100 youths causing havoc.

Police said at the time that they were faced with up to 100 youths causing damage to the hall, forcing families to remain inside 'for fear for their own safety', and that a police car was damaged.

One boy was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence.
