A GRANDFATHER has made his first appearance in court accused of outraging public decency.

David Stevenson, 48, of Burnsford, Church Lane, Hambleton, pleaded not guilty to the offence.

He is alleged to have been seen touching himself while near to Gynn Park, Blackpool, where children were playing.

The offence is said to have taken place on October 14 this year.

District Judge Jeff Brailsford sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court said the case must be heard at crown court.

Stevenson was bailed to December 18 for the committal of his case to the higher court.

He must not enter any public parks or gardens as a condition of his bail.
