The force said a "substantial" cannabis grow was discovered, spanning both floors of the home, as well as rooms inside the home next door.

It said a hole had been created in the loft space connecting the two homes, where the electricity had been abstracted and bypassed to power the equipment.

CSI vans were seen parked outside the home and officers had been busy dismantling the grow yesterday afternoon.

A police spokesman said: "Fylde Neighbourhood Officers, Fylde and Wyre Taskforce have executed a drugs warrant at an address in Little Eccleston due to receiving community intelligence in relation to a cannabis grow.

"Upon entry, a substantial cannabis grow has been discovered, spanning all floors of a semi-detached property including next door, as a hole had been created in the loft space connecting the two addresses.

"The electricity was abstracted and bypassed which posed a significant fire risk.

"This grow has now been dismantled and destroyed and enquiries are on-going. In the case of cannabis grows and the supply of drugs there is a significant amount of evidence to analyse before a case can be prepared for prosecution.

"We are determined to disrupt these organised groups that pose such a risk to our communities."
