A former soldier went to collect his belongings from his home and pushed his ex-girlfriend who was pregnant.

Jason Parker also pulled his ex’s hair after they argued about her contacting a man via Facebook.

He is not proud of what he did

Parker, 22, of Braithwaite Street, North Shore, pleaded guilty to assault.

Adrian Hollamby, prosecuting, said the victim, her six-year-old daughter and a female friend were at their Blackpool home on December 17 when Parker arrived.

Parker pushed his ex and pulled her hair.

The victim, who said she was six to seven-weeks’ pregnant, added that she had fallen to the floor. When interviewed, Parker said he could not remember pushing her. He added he was ashamed.

Howard Green, defending, said the couple had been together almost one year, but the relationship had broken down.

Mr Green added: “He is not proud of what he did.

“He was in the Army for about one year and intends to apply to rejoin the service.”

Parker was bailed for pre-sentence reports by Blackpool magistrates and must not contact his ex or enter Mansfield Road as bail conditions.
