A former teacher at Rossall School in Fleetwood has been charged with historic sex offences.

Roy Ball, 80, faces three charges of indecent assault on children aged between eight and 12.

The offences date back to the 1970s, when he was a teacher at the school in Fleetwood.

He is also charged with 14 offences relating to possession of indecent images.

The charges are the result of an investigation launched by Fleetwood CID in November last year.

Mr Ball, who now lives in Edward Road South, Clevedon, Somerset, has been bailed and is due to appear before Blackpool magistrates on October 22.
