A FACEBOOK request put a St Annes man in breach of a restraining order.

Tony Holt, 50, made the request for contact to a family member he was banned from contacting in any way.

Holt, of Clifton Drive South, admitted being in breach of the restraining order imposed in December after he was found guilty of assaulting his former partner.

Blackpool Magistrates’ Court heard that Holt accepted his relationship with the woman was over and was finding it difficult coming to terms that he was also barred from getting in touch with other members of his family.

David Charnley, defending, said: “He has taken to drinking and is also on medication.

“He sent the request when he was at a very low ebb.

“He accepts he should not have done it.”

Holt was placed on a curfew for eight weeks.
