A former soldier tried to out-run police by driving along Blackpool Promenade at more than 100mph during the Illuminations.
Shane Osborne, 25, of Haycliffe Terrace, Bradford, West Yorkshire, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and theft.
Blackpool magistrates sent him to Preston Crown Court for sentence by a judge on October 15.
He must live at his given address, keep a 7pm to 7am curfew, report daily to police and not enter Blackpool as conditions of his bail.
Prosecutor, Alison Quanbrough, said on Thursday Osborne went on the run after stealing £800 of tools from a car parked in Blackpool. About midnight, police spotted him driving a Ford Focus on the Golden Mile.
Officers signalled for him to stop, but he refused. At one stage he was doing 103mph down the Promenade which has a speed limit which varies from 20mph to 30mph.
Sarah McIntyre, defending, told magistrates: “He was in the Army for seven years and left 12 months ago. Since then he had difficulty finding employment. He realises what he did was wrong.”
