Preston Crown Court was told he had repeatedly hassled barmaids who had stopped serving him.

One of the barmaid’s boyfriends allegedly called him fat.

The men are said to have shaken hands before Kinahan left, but 20 minutes later he returned to the venue asking for the reveller.

Karen Brooks, prosecuting, said two barmaids had been on duty and had served Kinahan on a number of occasions, but had eventually refused to serve him any more alcohol.

She added: “The defendant didn’t accept the fact they refused to serve him, he was continually asking to be served.

“The barmaid heard her boyfriend shout something towards him along the lines of ‘fat’. The defendant replied: “Did he just call me fat?’

“At that stage she asked them both to leave it and they shook hands. He left the pub.”

But angry Kinahan returned 20 minutes later and said “Where is he?”

Kinahan has a previous conviction for possessing a knife.

Defending, Paul Robinson asked the judge to “ exercise discretion” as he was 17 when he committed that offence .

But Judge Simon Newell said: “ Your pre sentence report suggests you are prone to binge drinking. My concerns are not just the possession of the knife but the circumstances in which you had it. You were very drunk, you would not be in control of yourself, you would not be able to make rationale decisions.”
