A man described as having had an alcohol problem since the age of 12 caused £2,000 of damage after drinking.

John Smith smashed a large front window at Paolo’s hairdressers on Dickson Road. Smith, 25, of Dickson Road, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to causing damage.

He was bailed for pre-sentence reports and will be sentenced at a later date by District Judge Roger Lowe sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.

Claire Harris, prosecuting, said police were told a window had been broken at a hairdresser’s on Dickson Road on June 27 at 9pm. Door staff at a club told officers they had seen the culprit going into a nearby address. Smith told police he had no recollection of what he had done due to the amount of alcohol he had drunk.
