A man was heard shouting that he would kill someone and burn a house down.

Michael Bolton, 34, of Rivington Avenue, Bispham, refused to let police into his address and shone a torch in officers’ eyes while laughing.

I’m really sorry. I did not mean to get that drunk

Pam Smith, prosecuting, said police went to Bolton’s address after a report of a disturbance on November 4 at 1.25am.

Bolton appeared drunk. About an hour later a neighbour called police said Bolton was thumping on the adjoining wall. Officers heard Bolton shout “I’ll kill you. I’ll burn your house down.”

Bolton was laughing at officers and goading police. He told magistrates: “I’m really sorry. I did not mean to get that drunk.”

He pleaded guilty to breach of the peace and was bound over in the sum of £50 for six months by Blackpool magistrates.
