Drugs fine for dancer

A woman used her earnings from lapdancing to buy a drug nicknamed bubble.

Christina Moustouhas, 23, of Hexham Avenue, Cleveleys, admitted possessing mephedrone when she appeared before Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.

Sandra Ardern, prosecuting, said on November 28 a security officer in Flamingos searched the defendant’s handbag and called police when drugs were spotted inside.

Moustouhas told police she used the drug regularly and bought £100 of it at a time.

Allan Cobain, defending, said the drug his client was found with was one previously referred to as a “legal high” and it had only relatively recently been made illegal.

Moustouhas admitted using the drug when she went out clubbing.

She had worked in a lapdancing club for two days before deciding that the work was not for her. The pay was very good and she used the money to pay for the drug.

Moustouhas was fined £65 with £85 costs and ordered to pay the £15 victims’ surcharge by District Judge Jeff Brailsford .
