POLICE uncovered a haul of suspected heroin in an exclusive Fylde apartment.

Police raided the property in New Hampshire Court, Cypress Point, Ansdell, after receiving some community intelligence.

A warrant to search the property was carried out by officers who found the stash, believed to be the Class A drug, around 11.15am on Wednesday.

Fylde councillor Dawn Prestwich praised the actions of police.

She added: “I am pleased the powers that be are on the ball and looking into anything that comes up like this.

“It has to be looked at with concern, but it reassures people everything is being done on the issue.”

A police spokeswoman said: “A pre-planned warrant was carried out, with a small amount of drugs found.

“We believe it to be heroin.

“No arrests have yet been made.”

The find follows several discoveries across Fylde homes in recent months.

In February, four rooms full of cannabis-growing equipment were found at a property in Central Beach, Lytham.

A raid in Warton in November uncovered £1,000 of cannabis while a £160,000 cannabis factory was found in Clifton Drive, Lytham, in October.

Homestead Consultancy Services, which manages the apartments at New Hampshire Court, refused to comment on the discovery.
