A man has admitted his third drink drive offence.

Thomas Frain, 27, also admitted driving while disqualified and driving without insurance when he appeared before Blackpool magistrates.

Frain further pleaded guilty to driving without insurance and breaching a community order.

He was given a four-month jail term suspended for two years and banned from driving for three years.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, said that Frain, of Hull Street was arrested on December 27 driving a friend’s Nissan. The friend did not know he was a banned driver.

A test revealed he was over three times the limit.

Gerry Coyle, defending, said: “This man has had a lot on his mind. He has been in Spain helping to look after his parents after his father was injured.”
