A WOMAN was almost three times over the limit when she drove to a horse tack shop.

Blackpool Magistrates’ Court heard how 63-year-old Suzanne Smith hit a BMW in the car park at the shop and hit a building.

Smith, of Pheasant Walk, Ribby Hall, Wrea Green admitted drink driving.

She was ordered to undertake 80 hours’ unpaid work for the community and banned from driving for two years.

The court heard Smith had recently been bereaved and had been going through some of her late husband’s effects.

This had an emotional effect on her and she started to drink.

Smith kept a horse at Ribby Hall.

The next day she went to buy equipment for it but she was still well over the limit when driving.

Steven Duffy, defending, said his client accepted causing £125 worth of damage to the BMW but did not accept she had been involved in hitting any building.
