A ST ANNES man has admitted failing to provide a blood test after he was arrested for drink driving.

George Carleton, 51, of St David’s Road North, St Annes admitted the offence when he appeared before Blackpool Magistrates.

The court heard that police saw Carleton get into his car after drinking in the town’s Trawlboat Inn.

The officer followed Carleton’s vehicle through the town centre but the driver did not respond to the officer using his lights to tell him to pull up.

He halted at the railway station car park and at first told police he had not been drinking.

He refused to give a breath sample and at the police station refused to give blood test.

Sue Mugford, defending, said Carleton had a drink problem which he was trying to address.

The case was adjourned for reports on Carleton until September 4 and he was banned from the road in the interim.
