Lancashire Police have stopped a man on the M55 motorway while driving on the phone.

The stoppage happened on Saturday (April 21).

Lancashire Road Police tweeted: "We passed this vehicle on the M55 sat in lane two as the driver chatted away on his mobile phone."

To make matters worse for the driver, police also reported a three-year-old "jumping around on the backseat", with a photo showing a child's car seat not in use but in the vehicles boot.

When asked by a member of the public what will happen next, they replied: "Six points and a £200 would be the minimum for the mobile offence alone.

"The driver was reported for both offences and has six points already so may face a disqualification."
