A driver was found to be over the alcohol limit after he undertook a police car in Blackpool town centre.

Lee Jones, 40, of Wall Street, North Shore, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol. He was banned from the road for 14 months, fined £120 with £85 costs and ordered to pay a £150 court charge plus £20 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, said Jones was driving a Citroen Saxo on November 8, at 7pm. when he undertook a police car on Talbot Road. A breath test showed 48 microgrammes of alcohol in his body – 35 is the limit.
