Dog threatened in street robbery

Police are hunting three thugs who threatened to hurt a woman's dog in order to rob her.

The incident happened at around 11.30pm in Chatsworth Avenue, Fleetwood.

The woman, who police described as ‘vulnerable’ as she is currently on crutches, was out walking her dog when she was approached by the gang.

They picked up her pet and threatened to hurt the dog unless she handed over money.

The victim handed over around £50 in cash before the gang made off on foot.

No weapons were used in the robbery.

One man was wearing black Nike tracksuit bottoms and a hoodie.

A second man was wearing jeans and a padded body warmer.

The third was wearing distinctive red tracksuit bottoms and a dark coloured hoodie.
