Dad who died after brawl at Normoss pub was 'always smiling'

Friends of a dad who died after a pub brawl described him as a 'true gent' and a 'great guy' who was always smiling'.

Four men were arrested on suspicion of murder.

Police confirmed the man's name as Simon Marx after informing his family of his death.

Writing on Facebook, Zee Jane said he was a 'true gent' whose 'massive smile could make you laugh'.

"My heart breaks for his young children and mum," she added.

Erika Norbury said: "Well there is certainly a cloud over our house this morning as we had the very sad news.

"It's his birthday tomorrow and I think it's absolutely heart rendering to hear he has sadly passed away, and with his whole life ahead of him and in such a cruel way.

"I really feel for his family, for his girlfriend who was looking forward to spending some lovely time together on holiday, and now sadly this won't be happening."

Others described him as a 'top bloke' and a 'lovely person'.
