A dad-to-be breached a court order by failing to do unpaid work for the community.

Kevin Sweeney, 25, of Park Road, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with a community order.

Neal Brookes, prosecuting for the Probation Service, said Sweeney had been sentenced to 120 hours’ unpaid work for an offence of damage, but had only completed 61-and-a-half hours.

Robert Castle, defending, said his client apologised. Sweeney had discovered his partner was pregnant with their first child. He then received notice they were going to be evicted from their flat and he had to find other accommodation.

Sweeney was sentenced to do an extra 20 hours’ unpaid work for the community by Blackpool magistrates.
