Dad smashed windows in rage

A dad smashed three windows at his ex's home and the glass shattered onto a changing mat where a baby had been only minutes before.

Steven Fronte lost his temper after being told by his former girlfriend she would not let him have the children on Christmas Day.

Fronte, 23, of General Street, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to causing damage.

He was sentenced to a 12 -month community order with up to 10 days’ rehabilitation to be supervised by the Probation Service, fined £50 with £85 costs and ordered to pay £60 victims’ surcharge by District Judge Roger Lowe, sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.

Chrissie Hunt, prosecuting, said Fronte went to his ex’s home in Furness Court on December 23 about 10.45pm.

There was an argument and Fronte shattered three windows.

Gary McAnulty, defending, said his client had gone around to deliver Christmas presents. Fronte was a diabetic and he now realised his ex was suffering from post-natal depression. On that evening their moods clashed.
