A MAN has admitted causing his own father grievous bodily harm.

Aaron Eastham, 31, of Roseacre, Blackpool, admitted a further charge of assault on his father.

Blackpool Magistrates’ Court ordered Eastham be sentenced at Preston Crown Court.

Eastham , who suffers from autism and depression, was remanded in custody.

The court heard during the more serious attack he struck his father with a chair leg putting him in hospital with an injury which had affected his eyesight.

John McLaren, defending, said: “My client’s autism means he can react to situations in an illogical manner with regrettable conclusions.”

Sending Eastham to the higher court the judge said: “I am greatly troubled about the life which this family has to live.”

“I can see a million reasons why a man like this should not be kept in custody.

“But there is nowhere else for you to go at this time.

“There is a need to protect the victims in this matter.”
