David Doherty, 55, met the woman at a Fleetwood food bank and the pair had a turbulent relationship, Blackpool Magistrates' Court was told.
The defendant, of Abbots Walk, Fleetwood, was found guilty of assault.

A row erupted and Doherty began throwing things around, magistrates heard.
He then turned on her, grabbing her chest and causing her pain.
Doherty was given a community order with a rehabilitation requirement and put on an eight-week curfew.
He must also pay his victim £250 compensation.
