A soldier accused of raping two women at Blackpool has made his first appearance at court.
Lance Corporal Lee Busano is charged with the rape of the women, aged 29 and 40.
Busano, 27, who is based at Weeton Army Camp, Weeton, is also accused of headbutting the 40-year-old alleged victim, causing her actual bodily harm.
The offences are alleged to have taken place between March 12 and 19 this year, a magistrates’ court was told.
Prosecutor Alison Quanbrough’s application the case go direct to crown court was not opposed by defence lawyer Hugh Pond.
Busano was bailed to appear at Preston Crown Court on November 26 by Blackpool magistrates.
He must live where directed by the British Army and not enter Blackpool except for pre-arranged appointments with his solicitor as conditions of his bail.
