Dr Jonathan Walsh, 47, who lives in Lytham, used a sophisticated hard drive cleaning programme to try and cover his tracks but was brought to justice after Devon and Cornwall Police enlisted the help of a forensic expert who was able to analyse Walsh’s home wifi router and prove he had been downloading and distributing indecent images and movies of children.

Exeter Crown Court heard the married father was arrested when detectives from Devon and Cornwall Police raided his then home in Wordsworth Avenue, Barnstaple, North Devon in September 2015.

Prosecutor James Davis told the court a total of 27 movies were recovered, 26 were Category A, the most severe.
