Community rallies to help school after thugs wreck playground
Play equipment was damaged and small fires were set in the playground at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary in Wesham in the early hours of Monday. And the Garstang Road North school was quickly offered help, support and donations from the community. The damage has now been repaired and locks changed. Headteacher Cate Gili-Ross posted a message of thanks online. She said: “We have always known community spirit is alive and kicking in Wesham but have been overwhelmed with the support you have all shown after this senseless act of Vandalism.
“We will be putting all our efforts into our Christmas fair on Saturday December 3 from noon to 3pm to raise funds to replace the damaged resources.
“If anyone would like to donate any raffle prizes or just come along and support the event we would be very grateful.”
