The county’s police chief is to meet residents in the centre of Blackpool to answer any questions they may have.

Lancashire’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Clive Grunshaw, will attend the Gateway Area Forum tomorrow night to meet people who live in the Brunswick, Claremont, Talbot and Tyldesley wards.

It will be one of the first times the commissioner has spoken directly of the issues in Blackpool.

Mr Grunshaw said: “I know issues such as protecting the neighbourhood policing teams and tackling anti-social behaviour are important to residents in the Gateway area of the town, and I am looking forward to meeting with them, taking their questions and listening to their views. Hopefully Wednesday night’s meeting will be a worthwhile event for everyone involved.”

Chairman of the forum, Dave Blacker, said: “I hope that we will get a large attendance of people from the local wards to make the most of this opportunity.”

The forum is at the Citadel Corps at the Salvation Army on Raikes Parade. It starts with a marketplace event at 6pm.
