Claremont Park in Blackpool target of 'mindless criminal damage'

Blackpool Police have released images of the damage vandals have caused to Claremont Park on Claremont Road in North Shore.

Nearly a year ago the park received a pirate-themed makeover after a £288,000 investment in March 2019.

The scheme was paid for by Blackpool Better Start as part of a programme of upgrades to playgrounds in deprived areas of the town.

A spokesperson for Blackpool Police said: "The Policing Team on Claremont have been made aware of this mindless criminal damage on the park.

"A lot of effort has been made to improve the facilities for the community and it a shame that people are treating it like this.

"We are making enquires to find those responsible."
