A BLACKPOOL man has been charged by police after a massive drugs haul was found in Bispham.

It follows a series of raids at properties in Healy Street and Honeysuckle Place.

Officers seized a substantial quantity of amphetamine with a street value of around £40,000.

David Bates, 66, of Honeysuckle Place, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to supply amphetamine and possession of cannabis.

He will now appear before Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.

A 41-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of amphetamine and has been bailed pending further inquiries.

Warrants were also executed at Clinton Avenue, Blackpool and on Blackpool Old Road, Little Eccleston.

Quantities of substances suspected to be mephadrone and cannabis were recovered from these addresses.

Two men, both 21, were also arrested at Blackpool bus station on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class B drugs.

They have now been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
