CCTV shows cash being stolen from Winter Gardens charity box

A thief has been filmed stealing cash from a charity box in the Winter Gardens.

Police in Blackpool have retrieved CCTV footage of the theft, which happened on Tuesday, January 21.

The cash had been stolen from a box inside the entrance to the Spanish Suite at 1.15pm.

The box was owned by the Winter Gardens Trust who work with the venue to help raise funds for the continued restoration of the venue.

It is believed to have contained a substantial number of donations, including a £20 note and a quantity of change.

PC Carruthers, who has been investigating a number of charity box thefts recently, is appealing for the public's help in identifying the thief.
