Police have released an image of a man they want to speak to after a terrifying knifepoint robbery at a Blackpool off-licence.

Detectives investigating the raid at the Beech Wines shop in Beech Avenue, have today released this CCTV image in a bid to bring people with information forward.

Officers say a man burst into the store armed with a knife and demanded the shop assistant hand over cash.

The raider got away with some cash before running off towards Newton Drive.

The assistant, a man, was left shaken but unhurt.

The incident happened at around 8.20pm on Sunday, November 24.

Det Con Abigail Finch, of Lancashire Police, said: “I would appeal to anybody who thinks they may recognise the man in the CCTV image to contact police.

“I am also keen to speak with anyone who may have seen a man running from the store around 8.20pm on Sunday, November 24.

“If anybody has any information at all about this incident, they are urged to contact police.”

Police said the man was wearing a grey hooded top with a dark coloured scarf over his face.
