A CCTV appeal has been launched after a woman was allegedly racially abused outside a popular bar in Blackpool, say police.

Police say the racist comment was hurled at the woman outside the Flying Handbag on Queen Street in the early hours of Sunday, May 13.

Officers are now asking for help in identifying a man who may be able to help with their enquiries.

PC Nathan Stratford for Blackpool Police said: "We are asking anyone who may recognise the man in this image to get in touch.

"We want to speak to him after a racist comment was made to a woman outside The Flying Handbag.

"Apologies, we appreciate the quality of the image isn’t great but it is the only we have unfortunately."

Police say the hate crime dept at Lancashire Police has been in contact with the victim to offer reassurance.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Nathan Stratford on 07968 621817 or 101, quoting incident reference 113 of May 13.
