A shop worker was threatened by a robber armed with a knife during an attempted raid in Blackpool, say police.

The robber entered the Revoe post office and convenience shop on Central Drive at the junction of Chapel Street on January 5 at around 11pm.

Police say that the man then threatened staff with a knife making demands for money before making off empty handed.

Lancashire Police have now launched a CCTV appeal and are asking for members of the public with information to get in touch.

A force spokesman said: "We are appealing for any witnesses in relation to a robbery at the Post Office/convenience shop.

"We would appreciate if anyone recognises the male pictured that you contact Blackpool Police."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log reference 1573 of January 5 or alternatively calls can be made anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800555111.
