A police officer was forced to kneel on a man to restrain him after he caused a disturbance at a Blackpool caravan site.

Keith Lynch, 20, of Road End View, Maryport, Cumbria, pleaded guilty to breach of the peace and was bound over in the sum of £200 for 12 months by Blackpool magistrates.

Chrissie Hunt, prosecuting, said police were called to a report of a domestic disturbance between a couple staying in a caravan at Marton Mere Caravan Site on September 17.

Lynch was aggressive from the start, telling an officer: “There’s nothing happening here pal it’s just a domestic and nothing to do with you.”

He was asked repeatedly to leave the site but would not go, saying he had nowhere else to go.

He kicked out so violently an officer was forced to kneel on his knees so he could be restrained and handcuffed.
