A shop worker broke the terms of a restraining order placed on her by a court by making late night phone calls to her husband.

Sarah Murgatroyd rang him four times in less than half an hour begging him to let her see her son.

But police were called and they traced the calls to a house in Lord Street, Blackpool, where the man’s estranged wife was staying, Blackpool Magistrates heard.

Sarah Murgatroyd, 34, admitted making the calls in breach of an order forbidding her to contact her husband.

She was ordered to do 40 hours unpaid work for the community.

Tony O ’Brien, defending, said his client was causing herself more trouble by phoning in her battle to get contact with her son.

“There is a hearing in the county court next week to arrange that,” hesaid.
