POLICE are appealing for information following two distraction burglaries.
Both incidents took place between 5pm and 5.30pm on Saturday addresses on Kensington Road, Blackpool.
In the first sickening crime a man went to the door of a 74-year-old woman claiming to be from United Utilities. He has told her he needed to check her water pressure and asked her to go upstairs and flush her toilet.
On returning downstairs has asked her if she could change a £20 note and when she said she could not he asked her if there were any other elderly ladies living on her street. Fortunately nothing was stolen.
He then went to the back door of an 82-year-old woman on the street.
It was only after the man left the women discovered her purse stolen from her handbag left in her bedroom.
The man is described as have a dirty appearance. He is white, with short dark hair, a round face and was possibly wearing a boiler suit and work shoes.
