POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a nasty attack following a boxing event in Blackpool.

The incident happened after a Saturday night boxing event at the Norbreck Castle Hotel.

The victim, a 20-year-old man from Blackpool, was violently assaulted outside the hotel on the car park.

He received head and facial injuries and required hospital treatment.

CCTV footage has been checked and officers have released images of two men they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

Sgt Peter Lane, from Blackpool Police, said: “This was a nasty and vicious attack on a man who required treatment for his injuries.

“If anyone recognises to the two men in these images then I would ask them to call Blackpool Police.

“Those responsible for this offence need to be caught and dealt with.”

The attack took place on Sunday March 4 at around 12.45am.
