The offender was made the subject of an 18 month youth referral order together with intensive supervision and surveillance.

She was also placed on a two month curfew and must pay the victim £1,000 compensation.

Because the girl has no money the compensation will have to be paid by her parents, District Judge Jeff Brailsford ruled at Blackpool Youth Court.

He said: “I am worried that you at the age of 15 has a significant alcohol problem which you have significantly tried to underplay.

“This is massively troublesome and dangerous.

“However I have to think of your victim who has to get up every morning and look in the mirror and sees what you have done.

“If you were 21 years of age you would be going straight down those steps to prison for five to nine years.

“You picked up a bottle, smashed it and deliberately cut her face.

“The consequences of which scream out at me in her victim’s statement.”
