Officers from the Blackpool Task Force were joined by members of trading standards to issue the business, located on Lytham Road, a prohibition notice earlier today (January 12).

The tattoo parlour, which officers have not named, is also being investigated for "repeated breaches of other coronavirus legislation".

Police said fixed penalty notices have been issued and any breaches of the prohibition notice will "lead to prosecution".

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "We understand that this is a difficult time for business however the legislation is there to save lives and protect the NHS."

The news comes after police confirmed they had been called to more than 360 incidents of people ignoring lockdown restrictions in Lancashire over the weekend.

Lancashire’s Deputy Chief Constable Terry Woods said they will "continue to take a common sense and proportionate approach" when dealing with incidents, but those who deliberately disregard the law "can expect to have enforcement action taken against them very quickly, including being fined."
