Blackpool man charged with murder after discovery of body in burning car

Two men - one from Blackpool - have been charged with murder after a woman's body was found in a burning car.

Emergency services had been extingushing a car fire in Sunderland when they discoverd a body inside in the early hours of Tuesday.

They had been called to Success Road in Shiney Row, Houghton.

Northumbria police have identified the victim as Quyen Ngoc Nguyen, aged 29, from the Killingworth area.

Stephen Unwin, aged 39, of St Oswald’s Terrance in Houghton and William McFall, aged 50, of Waterloo Road in Blackpool, have been charged with murder.

Both men will appear at Newcastle Crown Court tomorrow morning.
