Figures obtained by The Gazette under the Freedom of Information Act show a sharp increase in incidents across the county with the highest numbers recorded in Blackpool. In Lancashire nearly as many Spice related incidents were reported in the first four months of 2017 as were reported in the whole of 2015.Almost have of all reported incidents involving Spice this year have been in Blackpool. The Gazette revealed earlier this month how people were openly smoking what is believed to be Spice on the streets of the town.Video footage filmed by both The Gazette and members of the pubic showed people apparently under the influence of the drug frozen like statues.Traders warned some streets were becoming ‘no-go zones’ as a result of the drug, a former legal high. For a full breakdown of the figures and reaction see The Gazette this week.
