Chelsea Bryan, 25, criminal damage

A woman kicked out and broke a bar’s window as she was being ejected by door security staff.

Chelsea Bryan, a 25-year-old telesales worker, of Edgeway Road, Marton, pleaded guilty to causing damage.

She was fined £250 with £85 costs and ordered to pay £300 compensation with £30 victims’ surcharge by District Judge Huw Edwards.

Prosecutor, Pam Smith, said Bryan was causing a nuisance in Bar 19, Queen Street, on February 5 about 3am, and drinking people’s unattended drinks.

She kicked out as she was ejected, damaging a window. When interviewed she said she did not often drink but had drunk four bottles of wine and could not remember what had happened.

Anthony Walmsley, 25, drug driving, failing to stop, having no insurance and not driving in accordance with his provisional licence

A driver failed to stop for police and led an officer on a brief chase before halting his car.

Anthony Walmsley was then found to have cannabis in his system after a blood test

Walmsley, 25, of Clover Avenue, St Annes, the kitchen manager of a Lytham pub, pleaded guilty to drug driving, failing to stop, having no insurance and not driving in accordance with his provisional licence.

He was banned from the road for 12 months and fined £600 with £85 costs plus £30 victims’ surcharge by District Edwards.

Prosecutor, Pam Smith, said a police patrol saw Walmsley driving a VW Polo on Central Drive, Blackpool, on November 29.

The officer put on his vehicle’s lights and sirens but had to pursue Walmsley for one minute before he stopped.

A blood test showed 5.2 units of cannabis in his body – 2 is the limit.

Daniel Rees, 32, drink-driving and no insurance

A takeaway driver was found to be more than twice over the alcohol limit while he was working. Daniel Rees, 32, of St Patricks Road South, St Annes, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol without insurance.

He was banned from the road for 40 months, fined £100 with £85 costs and ordered to pay £30 victims’ surcharge.

Prosecutor, Pam Smith, said about midnight police saw Rees driving a Ford Mondeo at speed along Derbe Road, St Annes, on February 3, before stopping at a takeaway.

A breath test showed he had 84 micrograms of alcohol in his body - 35 is the limit.

He had a previous drink-drive conviction from 2015.

Rees apologised and told the judge that he had split-up from his fiancée and had no fixed address at that time.

He said he had checked his insurance policy but had not realised it did not cover him for business use.

Sarah Murgatroyd, 38, theft

A mother with an alcohol problem stole twice from the same shop in one day.

Sarah Murgatroyd, unemployed, 38, of Newhouse Road, Marton, pleaded guilty to theft of goods valued at £20.

She was given a 12 months conditional discharge and ordered to pay £7.50 compensation with £85 costs plus £20 victims’ surcharge.

Prosecutor, Pam Smith, said Murgatroyd went into Sainsbury’s, Whitegate Drive, early in the afternoon on January 25 and took one bottle of red wine.

She returned later and took another bottle of wine, a cheesecake and ready meal before being apprehended.

Michael Critchley, 32, possession of cannabis

A man given drugs to cheer him up after he split-up with his girlfriend ended up being caused more grief.

Michael Critchley was arrested by police who found the cannabis on him when he was searched.

Critchley, a seasonal worker, 32, of Park Road, St Annes, pleaded guilty to illegally possessing the Class B drug.

He was given a six months conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs with £20 victims’ surcharge.

Prosecutor, Pam Smith, said Critchley was arrested on February 1 in St Annes and when taken into custody and searched a small amount of cannabis was found on him.

Gerry Coyle, defending, said his client had been given the drug by a friend in a pub where he was drowning his sorrows after splitting with his girlfriend.

Daniel Martin, 21, burglary and fraud

A 21-year-old man is alleged to have burgled the same St Annes property twice.

Daniel Martin of Oxford Road,North Shore, is charged with burgling a house on Bromley Avenue taking electrical goods, an air rifle and a bank cards. Martin is further charged with using the contactless card to make six fraudulent transactions buying himself alcohol and tobacco.

Blackpool Magistrates sent him for trial at Preston Crown Court.

He was remanded in custody until March 21.
