Michael Fairman, 27, admitted making threatening phone calls to the South Shore Primary Care centre (pictured), when he appeared before the resort’s magistrates.

He was jailed for four weeks.

Tracey Yates, prosecuting, said Fairman of Linden Place, Bispham, made four calls in all.

He demanded medication and to be put through to a doctor. However, he began to make threats and at one stage an upset receptionist taped one of the calls and put another on the phone’s speaker.“He also threatened to bomb the care centre, mentioned suicide bombers and made racist remarks,” said the prosecutor.

The calls were traced back to Fairman’s mobile phone and he was arrested.

Suzanne Mugford, defending, said: “My client says that day he had gone off on one because of mental health problems . He wishes to apologise for what he said.”

Jailing Fairman, chairman of the bench Sylvia Kirkby told him: “This behaviour was totally unacceptable these people were working hard for the public.”
